A culmination of over two years of Research & Development, in partnership with top Pickleball pros such as Tyson McGuffin, the VANGUARD Power Air addresses the need for both power and spin.

As professional Pickleball became increasingly focused on power and spin over the past 2 years, the larger community discovered the benefits of power and spin, especially when it comes to dominating opponents. VANGUARD Power Air technology was developed to champion these players and provide a paddle that enables full control of the court, with performance power and maximum spin.

The first iteration of this technology was developed in Selkirk Labs and launched as Project 002. Utilizing Labs member feedback, Power Air optimizes the 002, providing additional control from the SuperCore, enhanced consistency with 360° Proto Molding, and next-level aerodynamics and edge durability with Aero-DuraEdge Edgeless technology.

This is a great paddle for experienced players but beginners will struggle with control. The paddle surface is quite hard and as a result, dinking and drop shots can be tricky, especially for a beginner. For an experienced player, it's fantastic. I love the power and maneuverability and the surface puts great spin on the ball whether top spin for a ground stroke or back spin for a dink or drop shot.

I am just starting in the sport. My first paddle was the Luxx Control Air S2 (which is still and will remain my #1). The Power Air is VERY similar in feel. It is a little lighter and the feel is a hair more crisp than the Control. With that said, there is definitely a "Selkirk Feel" at the premium level and I am a "Selkirk Player." The "Selkirk Feel" is soft but not mushy which, for me, gives me a greater sense of control. Sort of like playing with a tennis racquet with natural gut strings. Lastly, put a little weight at the 4 and 8 o'clock positions and these paddles come alive. The folks at Pickleball Superstore are wonderful to work with!
